Saturday, April 4, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Lexington, Central Christian Church 205 E. Short
Street (ample parking behind bldg)
Breakfast provided,
and free training DVDs!
This free
workshop is designed to introduce faith-based communities
to wonderful free resources designed to help citizens understand
the crisis in American health care, the moral dimensions of the
crisis, and how members might impact the current discussion about
health care. The materials to be presented are non-controversial,
and have been created by a national interfaith team of leaders
to facilitate the development of a moral foundation for any solutions
that might emerge for the nation's health care problems.
If you would like to have a training workshop in your
community please contact the Kentucky Council of Churches and
we will work with you to find a suitable date and location.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: clergy, adult education
teachers, anyone with an interest in health care who wants to
help generate a movement in Kentucky to improve the health of
our citizens, and create an effective health care system that
works for everyone, not just some people.
MATERIALS TO BE PRESENTED: Training
will be provided in the use of free downloadable resource, Vision
& Voice. Additional resources will be presented
as alternatives. Congregations will be encouraged to join
efforts to improve the health of their members, and to see health
and healthy living as spiritual concerns.
Co-Sponsors: The Interfaith Alliance
of the Bluegrass; Kentuckians for the Commonwealth; Kentucky Conference
for Community and Justice; and the Clergy Leadership Network
The
Kentucky Council of Churches is pleased to provide these free
